During the expedition, the focus will be to observe and spot a plethora of wildlife, engage with the locals, and to understand the history behind our culture, way of life and hospitality in its true grandeur.

day 01
  • Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport and meet and greet.
  • Transfer to Hotel in Negombo.
    • Approximate journey time 45 Minutes.

day 02
  • Transfer from Hotel to Wilpattu. Check in for lunch at Palm Garden hotel.
    • Wilpattu National Park, is the largest wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka, spanning an area of no less than 131,693 hectares with altitude ranging between the sea-level and 152 meters. Wilpattu National Park has a good network of gravel roads, particularly between the water holes.
  • After lunch, you make your first game drive to Wilpattu National Park.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.
day 03
  • After an Early breakfast or with a packed breakfast & lunch you will embark on full day Game Drive to Wilpattu National park. Keep your eyes open for them Majestic Animals & Birds and maybe the elusive leopard.
    • Wilpattu National Park’s varying natural habitats; coastal belt, natural lakes (villus), rocky outcrops, scrublands, open grasslands and dense forest provide for numerous species of animals. Among the species are 31 mammals. The biggest draws in Wilpattu are Leopards (Panthera pardus kotiya) and Sloth bears (Melursus ursinus). Apart from those two mammals are Asian Elephants (Elephas maximus), Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, jackals, sambhur, barking deer, mouse deer Wild Pig, Water Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) and Mugger Crocodiles.

  • After breakfast, we transfer to Habrana.
  • Evening visit to witness the largest land animal in the region, Asian Elephants. At Minneriya National Park.
    • Located between Habarana and Polonnaruwa, the 8890 hectares of Minneriya National Park is an ideal eco-tourism location in Sri Lanka. The park consists of mixed evergreen forest and scrub areas and is home to Sri Lanka ‘s favorite’s such as sambar deer and elephants.

  • Breakfast at the hotel and morning visit to climb Sigiriya (Lion Rock) to see the rock fortress. Widely considered as the 8th wonder, Sigiriya is a marvel of engineering and craftsmanship built by a renegade king Kasyapa back in (477 – 495 CE)
    • Sigiriya is one of the most valuable historical monuments in Sri Lanka. The fortress has significant archaeological importance and attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is probably the most visited tourist destination of Sri Lanka.
  • Evening you make your second safari to Minneriya National park.
  • Dinner and Overnight stay at the hotel.
day 06
  • After breakfast, you will travel to Polonnaruwa, the second kingdom of Sri Lanka. The city is full of ancient ruins and history.
  • After lunch, you take an evening drive to Loris Watch considered a haven for wildlife, the private nature reserve at Vil Uyana which is made up of wetlands and forest habitats is home to numerous species of birds, mammals, butterflies, reptiles and amphibians.

day 07
  • After Breakfast to we travel to Kandy.
    • In 1592 Kandy became the capital city of the last remaining kingdom in Sri Lanka after the coastal regions had been conquered by the Portuguese, Kandy had become home to the Sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. It was widely believed that the one who protects and holds this sacred relic will Govern the island.
  • In Kandy, we visit the Royal Palace and the Temple of the Tooth.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant and you drive to Nuwara Eliya and check in to the hotel.
    • Nuware Eliya is 6000 feet above sea level, known as Little England in Sri Lanka and the tea growing capitol of the island. It offers the best of both worlds, tropical abundance and pleasant cool mountain climate. While the day time climate is sub-tropical, night temperature can plunge to less than 10 degrees and even close to frost.

  • After breakfast, we visit the beautiful Horton Plains National Park, the journey from Nuwara-Eliya to Horton Plains only takes an hour.
  • Horton Plains National Park is the only Nations Park situated among the hills, consisting of grassland interspersed with patches of forest, with some unusual high altitude vegetation. This amazing reserve is almost a natures heaven in the clouds. The park is a treat for nature lovers, where guests are allowed to trek the 4 kilometer walk looking for endemic birds, trees, sambar deer among many other animals living in the hills.
  • After the tour, you return to the hotel for lunch and enjoy the rest of the day at your free leisure.

  • Breakfast at the hotel and we transfer to Yala – climbing down to the dry zone of Sri Lanka on a 6-hour drive across scenic country side. and check in to the hotel for lunch.
  • We do an evening game drive to Yala
    • Yala is among the oldest and best-known parks of Sri Lanka. The national park spreads across 1297 sqkm or 129,700 ha. While we access the more famous Yala Block 1 which consists of 30,000 acres of dry arid forest. The park has many ecosystems ranging from dry arid shrub, open grasslands, patches of high forest, mangroves and granite which makes a perfect recipe for leopards.
  • Dinner and Overnight stay at the hotel.
day 10
  • After early breakfast, you have your first Game Drive in the Yala National Park.
    • We look for the elusive leopard in this amazing park which is perhaps Asia’s best location to see this elusive cat. There is also a substantial elephant population along with Spotted deer, Sambar, Wild buffalo, Sloth bear, Jackal, Mongoose, Pangolins and Crocodiles. The bird life comprises over 120 species, and ranges from Lesser Flamingos to Paradise Flycatchers, Crested Hawk Eagles, and Black Bitterns.
  • Return to the hotel for lunch.
  • Followed by an evening Game Drive.

day 11
  • Morning breakfast and visit Sithulpawwa Rajamaha Viharaya which an ancient Buddhist monastery. It’s a heaven for Meditation.
  • Lunch at the hotel and an evening game drive to Lunugamwehera

  • Breakfast at the hotel and we travel Udawalwe
    • Udawalawe is a small town located in the southern part of the Ratnapura District in Sri Lanka. It is situated in close to the district’s boundary with the Hambantota District and Monaragala District. The town is the main entry points to the Udawalawe National Park which is a major National Park in Sri Lanka which is renowned for its high population of wild Asian elephants.
  • Check in to hotel for lunch.
  • After lunch, you visit the Udawalawe National park on an evening game drive.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
day 13
  • Early Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Hikkaduwa. On-route we make a stop-over at the Elephant orphanage in Udawalawe.
    • The coastal town of Hikkaduwa on the South Coast, is well known for its ‘Coral Sanctuary’. The reef is well populated with a variety of tropical fish and turtles which can easily be seen even when snorkeling not far from the shore.
  • Evening we go snorkeling or surfing
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.
